TEBAS W
for bulk processing
The ZAYER TEBAS W is a high-performance gantry milling machine with a movable crossbeam and a movable table—and thus represents the logical evolution of the TEBAS. The additional W-axis significantly expands the machining range, making the TEBAS W the ideal solution for machining complex, large workpieces that demand the highest levels of precision and versatility.

Design
Work surface
Table lengths ranging from 4,100 to 6,100 mm, table widths up to 3,000 mm, and longitudinal travel up to 6,000 mm—for machining even large-format workpieces.
W-axis
The movable crossbeam adds a full-fledged W-axis to the machine with a travel range of 1,100 mm (1,350 mm optional)—it can move simultaneously or be locked in any position for maximum stability.
High load capacity
Designed by default for workpieces weighing up to 20,000 kg—optionally configurable for even heavier loads.
Speed
Rapid traverse speeds of up to 50,000 mm/min and working feed rates of up to 45,000 mm/min for efficient and fast machining processes.
Drive
43 kW main drive (up to 60 kW optional) and spindle speeds up to 6,000 min⁻¹ (up to 8,000 min⁻¹ optional) for maximum machining performance.
Construction Method
Vibration-damping castings ensure consistently high geometric accuracy—even under intense, prolonged stress.
Rack and pinion
Dual-motor drive based on the master-slave principle for virtually backlash-free reversing, high feed force, and excellent positioning accuracy.
Glass Rulers
Installed on both columns to ensure precise positioning of the W-axis and minimize bending forces by reducing the overhang of the milling carriage.
Milling Heads
Wide selection of milling heads—from automatic 45° and 30° heads to straight and L-shaped heads, as well as motor spindle heads for complete 5-side machining.
Use
Ideal for mold and tool making, the aerospace industry, the energy sector, and heavy industry—anywhere large components must meet the most demanding requirements.

Highlights
- Free W-axis positioning: No indexing when moving the crossbeam—the W-axis can be fully utilized as a working or feed axis and can optionally be locked in any position.
- Increased Overall Clearance: The significantly enlarged clearance allows for the machining of larger workpieces, thereby increasing flexibility in your production.
- Cumulative Travel Distances: When machining from the face, the Z and W travel distances can be fully combined—for maximum reach without re-clamping.
- Optimal crossbeam positioning: Positioning the crossbeam as close to the workpiece and as low as possible significantly increases the overall stability of the milling process.
- Best surface finish: During finishing operations, the pendulum motion of the milling cutter is significantly reduced—resulting in uniform, high-quality surfaces.
- Shorter machining times: During roughing operations, the reduced overhang allows for higher cutting rates and, as a result, a noticeably shorter machining time.
- Thermal stability: Keeping the milling slide stroke as short as possible minimizes the effects of external thermal influences on machining accuracy.
